Did you know there are lots of homeless people in the Leeds area? Lots of people without a roof over their head or a bed to sleep in. Lots of people who don’t know where their next meal is coming from or even their next drink of water. We would really like to help and would love it if you could join us. Each nursery now has a donations basket in the entrance area and in here you can add anything you can spare to help out. If just a few of our families were able to donate something every week we would be able to help feed a lot of very hungry people! So next time you’re doing the weekly shop, have a look and see what’s on offer and please, if you can, put a little something extra in your trolley. There are lots of things that are really useful and these include: crisps, individually wrapped chocolate bars, individually wrapped cakes, re-seal-able drinks, small tins of fish in sauce, tuna meals in foil trays, breakfast bars, cereal bars, packs of biscuits, tinned fruit, dried fruit, long life ready made puddings (rice pudding, jelly, custard pots) and anything else that is longer life and doesn’t need to be refrigerated!
Other items that are useful are: new packs of underwear or socks, packs of tissues, deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brush and baby wipes. These items will be regularly collected from each site and taken to an amazing lady called Sam Hutton, who goes out nearly every night to distribute donations to those in need.
